Job Description


Danfoss is looking for an experienced Supplier Development Engineer to join our team. You will be expected to excel in a fast pace, growing company and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement. You will need to have outstanding interpersonal communication skills to deal with suppliers, co-workers and the various plant facilities which the suppliers provide product to.


Job Responsibilities


Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.


  • Driving sustainable supplier improvement through a systematic process that uses the supplier's data history and onsite reviews that will result in exceeding performance targets.

  • Perform scheduled audits of the supplier to assure processes and product continue to meet the establish and approved Danfoss PPAPs.

  • Drive supplier non-conformances using the 8D methodology as needed and be able to escalate critical problems with the appropriate Danfoss team members.

  • Knowledge and ability to drive a complete PPAP process with the supplier.

  • Ability to train suppliers on Danfoss processes and forms.

  • Support launch of some new product projects as needed from the assigned supplier.


Background & Skills


The ideal candidate possesses these skills.


  • Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a technical discipline is required.

  • Preferred experience in the following quality tools: PPAP, MSA, Capability Studies, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Audits, 8D, and Supplier Improvement Plans.

  • Previous quality engineering experience in a supplier quality or manufacturing environment required with preferred experience with IATF 16949:2016.

  • Required experience in using problem solving skills such as 8D's, 5 why's, Fishbone diagrams and other root cause analysis tools that have strong performance results.

  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel, SAP and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to work independently at various locations at Danfoss or at the supplier with travel not to exceed 50%.
