The Workday Payroll Senior Analyst supports the ongoing delivery for payroll on Workday clients. This role may be accountable for payroll operational leadership, client relationship management. Role is also responsible for providing functional leadership and guidance on best practices. This position involves client interaction, client consulting, and internal team interaction across multiple domains. The Senior Analyst will have consideration and understanding for up/down stream processes & impacts on other domains/third parties. The payroll analyst will have the ability to identify and resolve complex issues and incidents as well as identify root cause & trends relating to the issues. The payroll analyst should have a deep knowledge of payroll subject matter, process and proficient technical knowledge. The senior payroll analyst should have a good understanding of the overall service delivery model while also having some knowledge of project management and the system life cycle.

As a Workday Payroll Senior Analyst a typical day toinclude the following:


  • Participating in drafting initial Process Requirements Documents (PRDs)

  • Participates in/facilitates client process requirements

  • Prepares requirements documentations across phases of a project

  • Develops Systems Integration Testing (SIT/IAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test scripts

  • Performs SIT. UAT, SRT (Operational Readiness) testing, retesting

  • Develops internal documentation (e.g. SOP's)

  • Assists with set up of operations teams, infrastructure, documentation, and processes for NA and India Payroll delivery teams

  • Perform payroll Quality Assurance activities

  • Calculate and enter payroll payment or deduction data into the payroll system

  • Monitor inbound interfaces and resolve any edit errors

  • Load excel files and ensure all data is loaded

  • Submit funding requests

  • Supports stop payments, reissues, reversals and other adjustments

  • Support overpayment calculation and administration

  • Perform wage and data QA

  • Manage YE processing and W2 generation

  • Manages execution of project plan and deliverables for the Payroll domain

  • Provides input to requirements calendar

  • Accountable for the development/completion of Process Requirements Documents (PRD's)

  • Plans, schedules, and leads preparation for process requirements sessions

  • Holds the process expertise across applications

  • Owns and runs domain aligned status update meetings internally and with client

  • Primary escalation point between Operations and IT/PMO on risks/issues/solution needs

  • Coordinates team members, drives action items to resolution, ensures updates to change log for domain occur, participates in issue/solution log discussions

  • Prepares for and participates in Workday training

  • Escalates, assess, and/or mitigates (when required) risk/opportunities, including contract compliance, performance/delivery, adherence to Best Practices, standardized procedures & documentation, budget deviations

Requirements:


  • 3-5 years of work experience in HR administration, Payroll, or related process area

  • Experience in project/implementation work

  • Experience with PeopleSoft, SAP or other HCM required, Workday experience a plus

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines managing multiple tasks

  • Proven demonstration of problem solving/ analysis skills to solve various stakeholder issues or process changes

  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with direction from senior team members

  • Ability to gain knowledge of client policies and procedures and ability to provide advice and counsel

  • Ability to identify process improvement areas

  • Ability to refine processing procedures based on "big picture" and best practice understanding

  • Understanding of other in scope related service areas desired (e.g. compensation)

  • Ability to navigate and learn multiple systems

  • Demonstrated ability to write client business requirement documents

Education:

  • Undergraduate Degree (BA, BBA, BS in Business), equivalent degree or work experience required
