Job Description Summary

The Treasury Analyst I will be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements for the Treasury group and assist the Asset Liability Management function in the oversight of interest rate risk management, financial analysis and related strategy development for the bank. The position will develop relationships with key stakeholders and possess the ability to communicate outputs to internal and external personnel including accounting, finance, internal and external audit, and senior management. Strong candidates will take on additional responsibilities supporting other Treasury functions including capital markets, valuation, and forecasting and planning.

Job Details

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:


  • Develop, prepare, reconcile, and modify, recurring and ad-hoc financial schedules and related notes for management reporting. Documentation includes but is not limited to data needed for 10Q and 10K reports, internal and external audit activities, and ALCO reports.

  • Analyze detailed datasets, transforming it into meaningful financial information to address complex inquiries and present findings.

  • Become an expert in managing and integrating data from a variety of source systems to drive business improvement.

  • Conducts market risk analyses, identifies and analyzes balance sheet risks using advanced quantitative analytics (e.g. term structure modeling, scenario analysis and embedded optionality) and develops, tests and recommends risk management strategies.

  • Design queries and manipulate large volumes of data to create reporting to identify and interpret business trends.

  • Perform valuation scenario analysis involving, but not limited to, rates, convexity and prepayment on an ad hoc basis.

  • Assists in validation of financial models and cash flows against actual experience and relevant external benchmarks.

  • Reporting and analysis may support a variety of Treasury functions including capital markets, asset-liability management, valuation, and funding.

  • Other support functions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or other related field.

  • 4 years' experience in financial analysis or equivalent. Experience in financial and accounting systems preferred.

  • Advanced computer skills in MS applications required. Familiarity with SQL and/or VBA is desirable.

  • Maintains effective working relationships with manager, co-workers, branches and home office departments.

  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis and problem solving.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams, dive deep in to the details and being able to communicate key metrics to senior management in a timely manner.

  • Ability to meet tight timelines and prioritize workloads.

  • Strong data analysis experience with proven ability to manage large datasets and to work effectively at detail and big-picture levels.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS:


  • Able to operate a Personal Computer and view information on a monitor.

  • Must be able to sit for many hours each day.

  • Must be able to communicate via telephone and possess dexterity to include filing document, reaching and bending.

  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds

  • Ability to speak and understand English and express ideas and have difficult conversation in person and over the telephone

  • Ability to listen and comprehend speech.

  • Ability to problem solve, make decisions, interpret data and information, read, write and organize information in an orderly manner.

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally as needed.
