The Distribution Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director for Johns Hopkins Pharmaquip. This position oversees all service specialists and aspects of the distribution day-to-day process, which includes correct usage of newly implemented logistics software program on Company-issued smartphones. The Supervisor is accountable to ensure that all distribution operations are completed following standard operating procedures to ensure appropriate provision of services are met. The Distribution Supervisor ensures that staff follow all procedures and policies, from loading to delivery of equipment, medication, and supplies. The Supervisor is responsible for reviewing and reporting key performance and quality metrics. Any variances are identified timely and reviewed with the Assistant Director. The Distribution Supervisor acts in a mentoring, team leading role, and also provides education and training to staff handling equipment, medication and supplies. This individual is able to effectively communicate and develop working relationships with Distribution Supervisor, Dispatch Supervisor, Purchasing Supervisor, COE management, Respiratory, Infusion, warehouse and distribution teams to meet the needs of the customer receiving home care. The Supervisor can assign assistance from the Dispatch and/or Warehouse Supervisors, as warranted.

Education:


  • High School Diploma

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred

Knowledge:


  • Insurance and third party payer billing and reimbursement

  • Medical equipment and supply knowledge

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Knowledge of customer service excellence tactics

  • Understanding of dispatch/routing

  • Knowledge of education needs of patient/caregiver from employee

  • Knowledge of State, Federal and JCAHO guidelines

Skills:


  • Ability to effectively and pro-actively manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Ability to work independently or within a group to problem solve and make decisions as necessary.

  • Ability to establish appropriate priorities and anticipate events and staffing needs.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all personnel, excellent verbal and written communication skills
