GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the research pharmacy technician prepares and distributes investigational medications, maintains the investigational drug inventory, and maintains patient study records. Interprets physicians' investigational medication orders using knowledge of medication use; packages medications in approved packaging; accesses medication orders in the order entry system; verifies and unpacks deliveries of investigational drugs and places them into investigational drug inventory or storage; prepares sterile intravenous and non-sterile compounded pharmaceutical products; audits and maintains investigational drug/supply inventory; assists with site visits from study monitors.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

1. High school diploma, certificate, or equivalent combination of work experience and education.


2. Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification.


3. Registration with the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy.
