Overview:

The Cook, under the direct supervision of the Dietary Supervisor, prepares and cooks meals for patients and co-workers of the hospital. Cooks food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served. Assists with production/delivery/pick-up of patient trays. Keeps cooking utensils and working area clean and adheres to all sanitary regulations. Performs all work with accord to the mission, vision and values of Mercy Tishomingo Hospital. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education: High school education or equivalent. Education in Food Service or cooking preferred. Two years experience or equivalent in institutional cooking, preferably in a health care setting.
  


• 
  Experience: Two years experience or equivalent in restaurant style, institutional cooking, preferably in a health care setting.


• 
  Preferred Education: Will require some minor training of CBORD nutritional software system.
