What You’ll Contribute to OHM Advisors


As a Project Manager in the Environmental and Water Resources Group (EWRG), you will lead a range of water resources projects across the Midwest.  EWRG is a diverse 40+ person team looking for an experienced project manager with a passion for water resources. The EWRG team works on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects including modeling of distribution and collection systems, asset management, stream restoration, green infrastructure, and a range of facility designs.
A successful candidate for the Water Resources Project Manager position is team-oriented, organized, and has strong technical skills. The candidate takes initiative and current on software, regulations, and technology. This position could be either full-time or part-time with flexible working arrangements available.


Your Responsibilities



  • Act as a project manager on studies, reports, design, and construction of water distribution systems, sewage collection, storage facilities, control vaults, pumping stations, booster stations, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, and green infrastructure.

  •  Effectively communicating project goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to project team, client, and public

  • Preparing and managing scope, schedule, and budget for proposals and contracts.

  • Managing staff, sub-consultants, and expenses during project implementation.

  • Obtaining repeat work from clients, including cross-selling of services. Securing environmental water resources work with current and future clients.

  • Timely and accurate completion of OHM and sub-consultant invoices and collections.

  • Understanding OHM services and how they relate to client's organizations and needs.

  • Anticipating project issues, including advising the client on alternatives and providing recommendations for solving the issue

  • Developing and leading teams.


  • Implementing projects from scoping to completion including overall decision-making and QA/QC.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What You’ll Need to Succeed



  • Master’s degree in the related engineering field with a focus on water, wastewater, and reclaimed water engineering; preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility experience in water resources including managing projects and proposal writing

  • State of Michigan Professional Engineer license required. State of Ohio, Kentucky, and/or Tennessee Professional Engineer license desirable but not required

  • Familiarity with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling of water distribution, wastewater, stormwater systems.

  • Experience with water and wastewater infrastructure design considerations

  • Computer skills associated with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Excel; AutoCAD and/or Revit, Bluebeam or other PDF software, and scheduling software, such as MS Project

  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to solve challenging problems

  • Self-directed and ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

  • Team-oriented mindset and strong listening and collaboration skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
