Job Description:

Morris Midwest provides CNC machine tools, tooling and accessories, and related engineering and support services to manufacturers of precision machined parts to Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.


Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Productivity Specialist, you will be responsible for participating in the Capital Equipment sales process by providing technical information required to maximize productivity of machine tool users. Work with Capital Sales, Service, Applications, Contract Administration and management to provide accountability and follow-up for our customers. A Productivity Specialist is the customer advocate and main point of contact throughout the entire sales process. Other duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Responsible for supporting a specific geographical or capital staff selling area and supporting a broad base of functional role contacts within each user.
  • Act as the customer's advocate and champion for all post machine installation issues.

  • Developing customer relationships to ensure all needs are met from pre- to post sales by actively reviewing processes and reporting through SalesForce
  • Acting as the central knowledge base for machine accessories, work holding, and tool holding to recommend solutions and assist in integration planning post-sale.
  • Responding to customer inputs, product requests.
  • Maintaining involvement with customers after the Morris Plus process is completed, demonstrations and other customer related projects to meet deadlines and budgets

•Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company

•Demonstrate the ability to generate revenue within territory when not conducting Morris Plus process.


  • Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new productivity enhancements.
  • Act on and resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.

•Must have a high degree of integrity and professionalism that gains the trust and confidence of customers, sales staff, and colleagues.

•Proposes optimizing solutions through proposals and follows projects through the sales cycle

MORRIS PLUS Process Duties and Responsibilities

Documents the status and activities for installed machines using the MORRIS PLUS check lists entered into SalesForce with all customer visits.


  • Perform New Order Checklist with the Capital Salesman after the order is received at the customer's facility
  • Perform the pre-installation checklist reporting through Salesforce.
  • PS must be at the customer for delivery of the Machine.
  • Perform install ready checklist reporting through Salesforce.
  • Perform 30 day follow up checklist reporting through Salesforce.
  • Perform 60 day follow up checklist reporting through Salesforce.
  • PS will be the one source point of contact throughout the installation process of the Machine Tool to communicate to other departments or team members should any issues arise. Service, Parts, Applications and Contract Administrations.

Job Competencies/Qualifications(Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.):

•Engineering Degree (or related discipline) with 3+ years of applicable experience

•Intermediate to advanced knowledge of CNC machine technology and applications with previous experience in a manufacturing environment

•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

•Frequent travel throughout a regional sales territory is necessary

•Be self-motivated and self-sufficient

•Be organized and analytical and able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive

approaches

•Proven experience and ability to effectively present products and information to customers in a one-on-one or group setting

•Possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to

emails, requests for quotes and when submitting reports

•Exhibit excellent team work skills

•Able to handle travel

•Knowledge of Microsoft office programs and Sales Force a plus!

•Possess a valid US driving license and a good driving record

•Possess a current US Passport

Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience):


  • Public speaking and/or product presentation experience
  • CMTSE Certification
