Summary:
Under the general direction of the CEO and the Site Director, the Director of Performing Arts develops, implements, directs, monitors, evaluates, and promotes PLC Charter Schools' Visual and Performing Arts programs and represents the programs within the community. This position also provides administrative and technical support to assigned areas.
Responsibilities:

Coordinates program components, support needs and materials (e.g. negotiating contracts with vendors, reserving space, etc.) for the purpose of meeting PLC Charter Schools' and/or program guidelines.
Promotes the Performing and Visual Arts program for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes and encouraging student development.
Monitors Performing and Visual Arts services (e.g. evaluating programs and attendance, reviewing staff, overseeing equipment procurement, staffing, staff development, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that performance outcomes are achieved within budget, department, and school objectives.
Develops long and short-range plans/programs (e.g. identifying school-specific support needs; outlining performing and visual arts programs; integrating adopted curriculum; overseeing implementation of curriculum, staffing, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that school objectives are realized.
Performs departmental administrative functions (e.g. hiring, coaching, training, supervising, evaluating, monitoring budget, developing procedures, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff, and ensuring that necessary outcomes are achieved.
Works with all classroom teachers and provides coaching (e.g. professional development sessions, informal observations, team meetings, etc.) to incorporate the performing arts into their daily curriculum and assists with individual classroom skits, extravaganzas, talent shows and any performance based environments.
Monitors fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed.
Responds to inquiries of students, parents, other school personnel, community representatives, etc. for the purpose of providing information, assistance, and/or direction regarding the program and student activities and consults and/or collaborates with advisors/partners as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
