Job Description:

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Under the direction of the Applications Manager, or the Applications Director, the software engineer will be responsible developing new computer programs, tools, utilities, modules, and applications from design, inception, to implementation. The candidate will be responsible for gathering user requirements, performing analysis, and preparing technical documentation. The candidate will modify existing programs, prepare test data, perform unit testing, and help implement in accordance with development standards. The candidate will be proficient with Oracle development tools including Forms & Reports and other development tools.

Regular full time attendance is required during regular office hours. In addition to regularly scheduled hours, the incumbent is subject to working extra-time, weekends, holidays, late evenings, and early in the day.

EDUCATION


  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Form of Technical Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Oracle Forms/Reports or WebLogic Certification is a plus

  • Web design and development certification is a plus

EXPERIENCE


  • 4-5 years’ programming experience with Oracle Forms/Reports, WebLogic,   and Linux

  • 2-3 years’ application program design experience along with exposure to project management phases.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Java, .Net, C, C++, C#, XML, HTML, SQL, PL/SQL

  • 1-2 years’ trouble-shooting experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE


  • Exposure to project life cycle methodology including documentation requirements.

  • Design skills developing programs and application modules.

  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle Forma and Reports development tools.

  • Proficient in developing Oracle triggers, packages, and functions.

  • Proficiency in Java, .Net, C, C++, C#, XML, HTML, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, and SQL Server.

  • Understanding user requirements and program specifications, and applying programming skills to develop program(s) that meet the stated requirements.

  • Working independently to accomplish assigned tasks.

  • Ability to learn new tools and technology.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
