Schaeffler , a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking an Engineer - Product Design for our Wooster, OH location. The Engineer - Product Design is responsible for the complete design of a product, given the performance requirements.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform calculations and analysis necessary to ensure a design meets both internal and customer expectations
Responsible for technical drawings, documenting or presenting analysis results, DFMEA and providing risk assessments of production parts that deviate from the specification
Interact with customers and engineers from other Schaeffler facilities
Qualified candidates will have:
Applicable engineering & physics knowledge
Understanding of vehicle powertrain architectures and components
Basic understanding of electric machines and controls of hydraulics and heat transfer (Preferred)
Understanding of modelling and simulating of electric or mechatronic systems (Preferred)
Experience in functional safety of mechatronics systems (Preferred)
Experience in risk analysis and DFMEA
Experience in presenting engineering topics and moderating discussions
Experience in solving engineering problems
SAP & Microsoft Office
Communication ability (written & verbal)
Customer focused
Good presentation skills
Self-motivated & driven to achieve results
Continuous improvement approach
Assertive approach to solving problems
Ability to prioritize and make decisions
