What you will do 


  • This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and mentorship to all aspects of Software Development and Engineering projects and activities. You will develop and implement strategies and work with personal to develop process standards and performance metrics. You will lead and advise a team that has multiple functional areas. 

  • This role will be a catalyst to strategies, tactics, long-range planning, and overall efforts to continually improve the operations for Traffic Insight product development along with serving the internal and external customers. You will also work closely with Solutions Management and members of the senior staff to ensure our tech products and infrastructure are adequate to support the mission and growth of the company. 

  • You will have overall responsibility for long-range direction of camera and software product development. You will be accountable for the research, product development, quality control/quality assurance, documentation, and packaging functions.

How you will do it


  • Builds and drives strategies in alignment with the Company's overall vision and business goals to ensure that technology objectives are attained and exceeded.

  • Leads the support for existing applications and ones in development. Coordinate implementation initiatives, software updates and the roll-out of new software releases.

  • Provides inspirational leadership and focus to build positive relationships with other technology leaders that enable our team's ability to stay on the cutting edge of industry solutions

  • Continuously mentoring, developing, and redeploying employees as needed to build a phenomenal team.

  • In collaboration with senior leadership, you will establish annual development OpEx and CapEx budget, and manage the respective plan throughout any given year ensuring no overspend occurs.

  • Runs the full-time and contractor capitalization process with support from Finance and the Solutions PMO/Daptiv team. This includes ensuring accurate and complete time entry each month by all employees on your team and supervising actual vs. plan to support budget accountability.

  • Researches, identifies, and proves innovative methods and technologies.

  • Provides leadership to the product and information architecture of the business.

  • Provides technical and process oversight/assistance to a variety of IT projects, while also supporting business development.

  • Develops R&D policies and procedures. Leads all aspects of the research programs to assure our company's competitive position and to meet our long-range strategic goals.

  • Ensure alignment and execution of JCI Global Product Security processes and policy within the software and hardware development life cycle.

  • Uphold accountability to SOC2 controls and each controls respective policy & procedure that fall under the responsibility of our development team.

     

What we look for


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred. 

  • 10 + years of shown experience in technology leadership of commercial software product development teams.

  • Experience working and running global engineering teams in the production of commercial software using Agile development methodologies.

  • Experience in solutions that bring to bear a combination of IoT hardware and SaaS software

  • Experience managing solutions using cloud-based technologies. Google Cloud Platform preferred.

  • Proven track record of hiring, growing, and coordinating global teams.

  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations

  • A strong and strategic eye for business!

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
