We're Hiring an Assistant Sow Production Manager for our Indiana Region. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our production team to meet and exceed company goals and industry standards. Enjoy our progressive operations including electronic sow feeding (ESF), top-notch biosecurity practices, open pen gestation, along with half our herd being antibiotic free. You will report to the Director of Sow Production and will be a vital component of our organizations success.

Responsibilities

What You Would Be Doing

    Participate in selection, onboarding and development of Sow Farm Managers.
  • Administer trainings on environmental, safety, biosecurity and animal welfare programs.

  • Audit performance to ensure timely and efficient use of CVFF policies and programs.

  • Challenge current system practices and be a solutions provider demonstrating commitment to ongoing improvements.

  • Monitor regional production and financial budgets and deadlines, holding direct reports accountable for meeting targets.

  • In conjunction with Human Resources, administer hiring processes, team member relations, team member discipline and communicates any changes to farm staff.

  • Establishes and maintains open communication with all farm staff, management, other departments, external and internal customers and suppliers, and the local community to identify potential problems and initiate continual improvement

  • Set and deliver quarterly production rocks to support CVFF Initiatives

  • Investigate farm health challenges and provide diagnostic sampling when needed.

  • Collaborate with CVFF Veterinarian Team.

  • Participate in development and execution of SOPs.

  • Conduction employee reviews, participate in team member coaching and development activities, and raise the bar on excellence.

  • Demonstrate and support CFG Core Values

Qualifications

This Role is for You if:


  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or a degree from an accredited technical school; or a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in the swine industry.

  • You are a proven leader.

  • You have the ability and willingness to recognize and respond to new concepts.You have the ability to: analyze all aspects of a situation to gain thorough insight to make decisions; identify and evaluate resources; apply problem-solving abilities; be objective and fairly evaluate the different aspects of a situation.

  • You are multi-task oriented and a team player.

  • You have the ability to set, pursue and attain achievable goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstances.

  • You poses a valid driver's license.

  • You live or are willing to relocate within proximity of the production facilitiesYou are committed to meeting and exceeding industry standards in care and welfare of our animals.

  • You are able to tolerate a barn environment, which may include animal dander, manure, dust, blood, odors and frequently noisy conditions.
