Job Description

The Project Specialist will be based in Memphis, TN. Responsible for managing projects of low-medium complexity to meet the performance indicators (cost, delivery, quality, etc.) of a specific organization.  Assists in the management of larger projects/programs.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

• Interact frequently with customers and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and individual contributor groups.


• Process customer order changes by entering customer requests into production planning system.


• Communicates order status to customer including initial committed ship dates (CSD's) and follow up on interim order changes.


•  Run routine reports in support of customer information requests and internal reporting requirements.


• · Responsible for making sure work orders are released to manufacturing and authorizations for shipping are released in time to meet established goals for lead time, response time and committed ship dates.


• Provide support to quality function in resolution of customer incidents.


• Coordination and communication of order expedite requests to production control- may include preliminary determination of material and capacity availability, lead-time restrictions, and modification of schedules within limited parameters.


• Direct other employees in assigned duties and follow up to assure completion of tasks.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in materials, sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and/or program administration.


• Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.


• Demonstrates advanced skills in functional/technical area.  


• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.


• Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.


• Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management,


• Experience in manual order entry of a production planning system.


• Strong leadership skills.


• Experience with order management systems.
