With the rapid growth we are experiencing at MTM Transit, we are hiring General Managers to learn our company and culture. Individuals will be available for future business after mentoring at various sites. Initial assignments will be in various existing MTM locations. Tell us where you want to be located!

The General Manager works in collaboration with operations, corporate support departments, and transportation providers to ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective delivery of transportation services.  Will act as the internal liaison between departments and clients to ensure that the location is fully compliant with all contractual requirements.

What will your job look like?

• Contract oversight and facilitation of client needs with anticipation of growth


• Identify potential risk and develop creative resolution processes


• Analyze program needs and productivity and adjust staffing and resources to ensure cost effectiveness


• Development of or oversight of documentation or work plans as required or needed


• Oversight of vehicle maintenance program


• Recruiting, hiring, and employee training and development


• Thorough understanding of the contract, MTM Transit policies and employee handbook guidelines


• Develop a working relationship with client to ensure exceptional customer service delivery and problem resolution processes are in place


• Act in a consultative manner, developing and presenting operations plan reviews


• Provide education and information to client regarding MTM Transit procedures, services available, and changes within the Para-Transit industry


• Maintain a “Safety First” attitude with client and personnel


• Understanding of local climate needs and issues


• Understanding of local ridership policies to ensure smooth transportation services


• Maintain all employee and vehicle files in accordance with FTA and DOT guidelines


• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of MTM Transit departments and compliance programs


• Oversight of Federally mandated Drug and Alcohol program


• Perform additional duties as assigned or required ​

All you need is:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field


• 3+ years of experience in transit management


• Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or transportation related industries


• Prior contract and or project management experience preferred


• Experience establishing key processes and procedures


• Proven experience in operation’s and management of staff


• Proven experience supervising and monitoring the delivery of contractual services


• Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations


• Must possess a valid current driver’s license ​

• Extensive knowledge of budget and cost analysis


• Ability to evaluate and resolve problems and issues in a constructive manner


• Moderate to advanced computer skills


• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality


• Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance


• Regular attendance is required


• Understanding of and ability to learn and use transit related software packages
