The Cloud Engineer II-AES is responsible for tracking and resolving private cloud related incidents and requests, performing upgrades, managing monitoring and resource monitoring tool, identify issues and resolve, and working with a team to devise a plan for new technologies/firmware/hardware platforms/ and best practices in regards to TierPoint's private cloud offering. This role requires a client first mentality, high sense of ownership of problems, as well as a high level of attention to detail.
Advanced Enterprise Services (AES) Advanced Enterprise Services (AES) is TierPoint's white glove Managed Services offering that targets large customers who have very complex environments, very specific needs, or produce an onerous workload that falls outside of normal support. To provide the best possible service, the AES team is only responsible for managing a small number of customers.
Responsibilities
Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
Take part in complex projects and see them to completion.
Work with Architecture and Engineering on policies and best practices in regard to private cloud infrastructures.
Work with product groups to integrate and test upcoming initiatives.
Desire to improve upon existing systems and automate processes, including writing and maintaining documentation.
Escalation point for troubleshoot complex issues arising in Managed Private Cloud deployments.
Upgrading and patching of Managed Private Cloud infrastructures.
Maintaining and ensure TierPoint "Best Practices" are being followed.
Maintaining and ensure appropriate monitoring of Managed Private Cloud customer environments.
Monitoring DR status in Zerto and working with the customer to remediate any issues.
Monitoring and troubleshooting any issues with Pure Storage arrays.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience
Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
VCP-DCV Certification.
4 plus years' experience working with and architecting VMware hypervisors.
4 plus years' experience in working with server hardware architecture (Cisco UCS experience preferred)
2 plus years' experience in working with a programming language for use of developing scripts (PowerShell, Python, PowerCLI, etc.)

vRealize Operations Experience
Strong understanding of Disaster recovery in conjunction with VMware.
Zerto Experience
Strong analytical skills to interpret a variety of infrastructure and performance metrics to make recommendations for high priority escalations.
Strong client management skills including written and verbal communication. Willingness to meet and work with clients to discuss and outline technologies and processes that could improve their current environment.
Strong understanding of SAN and NAS, including experience with high performance arrays (SSD).
Intermediate understanding of enterprise networking concepts (VLANs, link aggregation, etc.)
