The Engineering Subcontracts Project Manager is responsible for oversight of the manufacturing operations of suppliers
as well as building and maintaining vendor relationships, and coordinating efforts to keep production moving to assist the
programs in meeting their cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and coordinating the resolution of production problems related to engineering, manufacturing, design, quality,
and materials engineering
- Analyzing engineering specifications and drawings
- Conferring with Design, Quality, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to provide and obtain
technical solutions
- Investigating reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems
- Reviewing production schedules and purchase orders
- Assisting with subcontractor evaluations
- Training and Mentoring supply chain professionals
Having excellent interpersonal communication and interface skills at all levels internally and externally is critical to success
in this role. Clear and concise written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail are a must as this position
has frequent interactions with the Executive Leadership Team which provides excellent visibility and potential career
growth.
This position will be based out your home office located no more than one hour from Seattle/Tacoma area or out of
Sunnyvale CA, NG Marine Systems main campus. This position will require the ability to travel up 50% depending on
location, sometimes at short notice.
Problem Solving:
Investigate and provide options for solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative,
thorough, practical, and consistent with the organization objectives, company policy and procedures. Gain concurrence
with both suppliers and Program Management.
Discretion/Latitude:
Works only under general direction. Independently works with the Suppliers, Program Management, Design Engineering,
Quality, and Supply Chain to determine and develop solutions amiable to stakeholders. Plans, schedules, and arranges
own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work products are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting
objectives.
Impact:
Contributes to the delivery of hardware for specific programs and high visibility projects. A successful Engineering
Subcontracts Project Manager will foresee upcoming supplier issues and assist the suppliers to avoid schedule slip while
creatively proposing ways to improve the schedule.
Liaison:
Frequent inter-organizational and outside supplier contacts. Represents the organization in coordinating solutions to
difficult technical issues associated with high visibility projects. Interacts with senior internal and external leadership on
significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations.
Travel:
Ability to travel 50%, sometimes at short notice, is required.



Qualifications:



This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4:
Both levels must have:
*Clear and concise written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
•Excellent interpersonal communication and interface skills at all levels internally and externally
•Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
•Ability to travel 50% of the time, sometimes at short notice, is required
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project

Basic Qualifications for an Engineering Subcontracts Project Manager 3 are:
•Bachelor of Science in Science, Tech, Engineering or Math.
•5 or more years of technical experience including 3 or more years working in a project management role

Basic Qualifications for an Engineering Subcontracts Project Manager 4 are:
•Bachelor of Science in Science, Tech, Engineering or Math
•9 or more years of technical experience including 5 or more years working in a project management role

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
•Master of Science in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field experience preferred
•Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
•SAP experience preferred
•Naval and Marine industry experience preferred
•Manufacturing knowledge and experience preferred
•TPS Lean, Six Sigma, SCRUM, or Industrial Engineering certification
CO minimum for T3/Mid level are:$83,600; maximum $ is $125,400
CO minimum for T4/Sr level are:$103,680; maximum $ is 155,520
