If you are an Environmental, Health, and Safety professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Mansfield, MA location, you will part of the team that produces pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants as well as valves for US Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. Safety and quality are paramount, and you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and standards.AS THE ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY MANAGER, YOU WILL:


  • Drive a positive Safety culture, in support of Safety as Emerson’s #1 value throughout the organization
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with all local, state, and federal rules, regulations, codes, and by-laws. These include, but are not limited to, National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Codes, US Code of Federal Regulation Parts 29 (OSHA) and 40 (EPA), Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection Standards, and Massachusetts Department of Public Safety Boiler Codes.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate EHS communications, design/revise training content for OSHA and Emerson-required topics, implement behavior-based safety programs, and drive general safety awareness throughout the organization.
  • Lead incident investigation process, ensuring a complete root cause analysis is conducted to prevent reoccurrences. Provide accurate, complete, and timely documentation completion and incident communication.
  • Recognize evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards through Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, creation of Standard Work Procedures, and assist with the development of training programs.
  • Have overall responsibility for facility and equipment maintenance, mechanical system support, and grounds upkeep including preventative maintenance of key systems, directing internal maintenance workers and external contractors to complete work as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene/Safety, Environmental Management/Engineering, Safety Engineering or related field; five+ years of related experience in health and safety; or equivalent combination or education and experience
  • Must be US Citizen due to US Navy contractual requirements
  • Familiarity with State of Massachusetts rules, regulations, and codes for managing environmental, health and safety programs
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety elements, including OSHA, federal and state regulations
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience applying root cause analysis methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide variety of audiences including company and corporate personnel, union workers, and government agency officials

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
  • Supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Managing heavy equipment installation and industrial construction
