Job Description:

Shift : 2 

Start Time :  2:30 pm 

End Time :  10:30 pm 

Schedule Days : Monday - Friday 

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) 




Job Summary:



Stock, pick, and package parts promptly and correctly.  Operate various Warehouse equipment including forklifts, stocker picker, and hose assembly machine.  Correctly manifest and ship all merchandise received in shipping area.  Receive incoming freight.  Complete required documents.  Expedite freight in a manner that will best serve all customer requirements.  Keep and file records of all outgoing shipments in accordance with record-keeping requirements.





Essential Functions:




  1. Fills orders from stock.

  2. Operates forklifts and stocker pickers.

  3. Promotes good safety practices while working and operating equipment.

  4. Fabricates hoses and battery cables.

  5. Packages and/or delivers parts.

  6. Replenishes shelf stock and stock Unit Exchange parts.  Stages Warranty Parts.

  7. Receives all Caterpillar, Allied and Exchange backorders.  Processes EMPIRE purchase orders.

  8. Dispatches Central Shipping Department truck and other EMPIRE vehicles available for delivery and pick-up of freight.  Performs shipping and driving duties.  Obeys all traffic laws and EMPIRE procedures.

  9. Checks PSO "hold until complete" file daily.

  10. Works safely at all times.  Adheres to all applicable safety policies.  Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.




Additional Responsibilities:




  1. Writes credits.

  2. Writes change and new locations.

  3. Initiates freight discrepancy forms.

  4. Loads all common carrier and company truck shipments.  Insures that all trucks are properly loaded and secured.

  5. Knows all outbound common carrier schedules.  Completes, distributes, and maintains files on all public and EMPIRE freight bills of ladings.

  6. Prepares manifest on all materials shipped on special runs and/or deliveries.

  7. Performs a pre-operational check of all trucks.

  8. Keeps Shipping/Receiving area, docks, bays, and vehicles clean and neat at all times.

  9. Works within and promotes corporate values.




Knowledge Skills and Abilities:




  1. Must have interpersonal skills to efficiently assist people in a professional manner.

  2. Must have prior warehouse material storage and retrieval experience.

  3. Ability to mentor and coach warehouse workers.

  4. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

  5. Must be able to safely operate material handling equipment.

  6. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.




Education and Experience:




  1. Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  2. Minimum 5 years experience in a warehouse environment.

  3. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
