Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Purchasing Agent to be based in Foothill Ranch, CA.  The Senior Purchasing Agent is an experienced supply chain specialist responsible for ensuring our supply chain and logistics operations function properly and the company achieves its production, customer service, quality, cost and inventory objectives in our high-tech medical device industry. This role collaborates with other departments, such as Operations, Engineering and Finance, to create effective purchasing plans. Therefore, teamwork and communications skills are very important. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Be part of developing and executing the company’s supply chain strategy

• Develop solid supply chain partners that can deliver quality products/goods to meet our specifications. Develop supply chain agreements and contracts with key suppliers.

• Analyze forecasts and initiate and execute purchases with approved suppliers to ensure materials will support build plans and inventory objectives.

• Evaluate and report on KPIs on PPV and On Time Delivery for Suppliers and report on any issues to achieve goals. Implement necessary corrective actions to resolve obstacles. Develop plans to negotiate with suppliers to achieve best prices and quality.

• Maintain accurate purchase records and purchase orders in ERP system

• Monitor logistics to make sure we are managing freight cost and supply costs.

• Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes

• Resolve issues that come up (e.g., delays in delivery, accidents)

• Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth

• Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and quality regulations and standards 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

7 years of experience in Purchasing for high-end technical products, medical industries preferred. Knowledge and experience purchasing printed circuit board assemblies, cables, power supplies, injected molded parts and optical parts. Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university required.
