An exciting internship opportunity exists at Barnes Group Inc. for a dynamic individual to support our Communications Department as a Corporate Communications Intern. The ideal candidate will be able to provide assistance on various creative projects and maintain professional communications with various departments within the company as well as external contractors. Core Responsibilities:
Edit, update, and maintain the homepage and other Corporate Communications-owned pages on the existing Company intranet (BarnesNet), using SharePoint 2013. Tasks include job postings, articles, announcements, etc.
Support Supervisor, Corporate Communications in editing internal communications such as BarnesNet articles.
Assist Sr. Graphic Designer with coordination, design, layout, and production of presentation and marketing materials.
Submit invoices for service contractor processes and other tactical tasks of the department.
Edit the external corporate website (BGInc.com) using Umbraco content management system, if needed.
Facilitate and execute mass printing requests with external vendors and maintain Print-On-Demand site.
Take photos of all new corporate employees and important corporate events as needed.
Provide general clerical and other administrative and accounting support to the Corporate Communications department.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and visual communications skills, clerical, and accounting skills
Adept at Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint software
Adequate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop; Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
Receptive to creative direction and editorial feedback
Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to exercise initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience creating videos with Adobe Premiere (preferred but not required)
Experience working within a CMS (preferred but not required)
Familiar with latest design trends (preferred but not required)
Education Requirements:
Earning Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Communications, Graphic Design, or related field
