POSITION OVERVIEW:

Sets up and controls plating equipment to coat/finish filters according to plating specifications using the work instructions and drawings. Reads work orders to determine size and composition of the filter to be plated. Conducts sample tests and checks for thickness using the CMI machine. Conducts sample testing of chemical solutions and chemical composition. Cleans housings. Administers preventive and routine maintenance of the plating tanks as needed. Assumes the responsibility to obey all safety instructions regarding disposal, mixing, handling and transporting chemical. Completes and maintains required documents, logs, time sheets, etc. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, chemicals, plating tanks, rectifiers, CMI (x-ray) machine, waste water systems. Conducts a quality assurance examination of the plated filter to ensure conformance to specifications. Conducts heat test on plated united following quality specification. Collects and develops data for corrective action to help solve issues.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

High School Diploma or GED. Must have a minimum of 3-6 months of related experience or specialized training in surface finishing. Requires basic mathematical skills and use precision measurement tools. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Basic chemistry knowledge preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills needed. Demonstrated computer skills in word and spreadsheet software applications. Electroplater certification or Wastewater license desirable.
