Position Summary

TranSystems is an architectural, engineering and planning (AEP) consulting firm with a core focus on the transportation industry. This position would be primarily located at the FDOT District 3 office in Chipley, FL.

 

We are seeking a Multimodal Planner that has 1+ years of college experience or 1+ years of experience in a field that compliments the job description included below. The primary duties of the Multimodal Planner are to provide a support role in all aspects of multimodal transportation planning (freight, rail, transit, roadway, aviation, seaports) and environmental projects as part of an innovative and progressive Multimodal Transportation Team.

 

The Multimodal Planner will focus on projects in the panhandle of Florida, but may be involved in projects in other parts of Florida or United States based on need and interest. This position requires an individual with a diverse set of skills and interests. The ability to grow and learn quickly is key. Enthusiasm, team building and a willingness to take on new challenges is necessary. The ability to write well and present professionally is also important. We will provide the training and direction needed, but the candidate must have the ability to learn quickly and become engaged in their work and our client’s work.

 

This position will offer flexible work hours, work from home options (as appropriate) and an engaging and casual work atmosphere. Travel within Florida will be occasionally required.

 

General Duties & Responsibilities


  1. Data entry and file management for all transportation modes

  2. Preparation, planning and analysis for project documents

  3. Will work independently in the preparation of assigned project deliverables

  4. Independently performs most assignments with instructions from Project Manager or Senior Planners/Task Leaders

  5. Gather and analyze data to present materials such as graphics and maps

  6. Work as part of the team to visualize solution concepts and assist in preparing recommendations and alternatives

  7. Compile and analyze data utilizing on-site visits to transportation providers (seaports, transit agencies, airports, etc.)

  8. Compliance reviews and facilitation of programs and services required by federal, state and local regulations

  9. Attend and participate in internal and external team and client meetings

  10. Participate in on-site inspections, inventorying and documentation of existing site conditions

 

Education/Experience – 1+ years of college experience or 1+ years of experience in a field that compliments or relates to the job description.

 

Language and Writing Ability – The Multimodal Planner is required to read and interpret documents and reports and provide clear summaries and analysis. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence in a professional manner is also required. 

 

Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite (or similar) experience is required.

 

Certificates and Licenses – None required.
