HPEFS helps customers create investment capacity to accelerate their transformation by combining technology insights with financial acumen to create innovative, sustainable IT management strategies.

HPE Financial Services, is looking for a Contract Manager in the US to negotiate and assist in structuring of a variety of commercial financial services and IT asset management services agreements and provide other contractual and regulatory support for the HPE Financial Services business. The role will closely interface with members of the Legal (primarily), Finance, Sales and other business stakeholder teams to structure and bring transactions to closure, support key business and Legal initiatives, and  otherwise act as key advisor to sales and business leaders.

The candidate can work primarily outside of the office and requires to be a proactive team player, with the ability to work independently when necessary.

This is a business role with a strong alignment with the Legal department.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and facilitate structuring and closure of a broad variety of standard through complex commercial financing and IT asset management services agreements (such as master services agreements, statements of work, or sale and purchase agreements) with customers.


  • Analyze business, financial, and legal risks and develop and communicate creative solutions and mitigation strategies for key negotiation points



  • Act as key advisor to business leaders and make strategic decisions as part of the end-to-end teams in the assigned areas of responsibility.



  • Drive and support the full contracting process by analyzing business, financial, and legal risks, including developing and communicating creative solutions and mitigation strategies for key negotiation points with business clients and customers, and drafting and negotiating appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of company.



  • Implement the company's business and legal strategy to focus on high value activities.



  • Improve processes, update templates, review governance and generally ensure that HPEFS’s contracting and governance approach is always ahead of the market.



  • Build strong relationships and network with a variety of senior managers including the company's legal colleagues, senior business owners, sales leaders and senior customers to facilitate effective escalations and efficient deal closures.

Education and Experience Required:


  • Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent foreign degree) strongly preferred; other advanced post graduate degree may be considered



  • At least 3-5 years of direct negotiation of commercial lending/banking/financing agreements, or equivalent experience.



  • 3-5 years of experience at a law firm or legal department.



  • Experience in commercial lending, equipment finance and/or data privacy law strongly preferred.
