Overview

LMI seeks experienced Real Estate Leasing Specialists key to providing support for federal facilities and infrastructure portfolio management program. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client keep our nation safe while supporting the facilitation of legitimate trade and travel.

Responsibilities

    Negotiate long-term land lease agreements, access rights-of-way, permits, licenses, and/or procure real estate on behalf of the government
  • Perform real estate market surveys and assessments

  • Manage leases including enforcement, terminations, expansions, renovations,

  • Research lease files to understand the responsibilities and expectations for rent and maintenance across the inventory

  • Understand and demonstrate knowledge of the Federal real property asset disposal process through the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) upon asset decommissioning and lease termination

  • Coordinate with counsel and the contracting officer to develop new leases and exercise options

  • Develop and/or create real estate instruments and exhibits such as leases and solicitations for Lease Advertisements, Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), Interagency Agreements (IAA), Supplemental Agreements to the Lease (SLA), Price Negotiation Memoranda (PNM), Cure Letter, Real Estate Decision Memos, Acquisition Plans and Standstill Agreement documentation.

  • Serve as a point of contact for realty-related project issues

  • Assist in real estate clearance activities, including title searches, review of land surveys, and ownership verification

  • Assist in the tracking and reporting for out-year budget planning for annual must pay and estimated costs for proposed lease agreements and terminations

  • Perform cost benefit analyses for leasing-related decisions

  • Advise customers, clients, and fellow federal associates of policies, procedures, and guidelines within federal leasing regulations

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum 5 years of experience in real estate/property management required

  • Previous work with government (DHS, GSA, etc.) facilities programs or related real property portfolios preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, databases and software systems

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance abuse, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation (CBP BI) required. Individuals with existing CBP BI preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
