Spec Engineering is seeking an impact player and difference maker to join our team as an Application Engineer who is focused on providing customers with technical support and regular communication. They can think outside the box when faced with new situations and radiate a sense of calm and respect while maintaining a healthy dose of urgency.

Spec Engineering is a privately held, fast growing, and stable full-service process engineering firm and turnkey system integrator. We provide the latest technology in processing systems for the Food & Beverage, General Manufacturing, and Chemical industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Supports and helps develop strategic sales objectives.

  • Site measurements and verifications for quote development.

  • Identifies holes in quotes and budgets.

  • Drive customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinates smooth transition between sales and engineering for project hand-off.

  • Prepares quotes and proposals.

  • Involved in all stages of sales process.

  • Assists in pipeline management and reporting.

  • Establishes quoting and sales procedures.

  • Assists in training – both in-house and for clients.

  • Provides field support – start-ups, troubleshooting, customer support.

  • Assist in developing processes and procedures to maintain correct margin within product lines.

  • Assists in developing product line strategy.

  • Follows up on quotes with potential customers.

  • Initiates customer service follow-up calls to ensure satisfied customers.

  • Relies on prior knowledge, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Required Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar field.

  • 2-5 years Technical experience that includes direct customer contact, sales, customer service, and application engineering.

  • Experience in an OEM environment is preferred.
