The ROOM SERVICE SUPERVISOR is responsible to oversee the daily operations of Room Service and to be responsible for ensuring the prompt, efficient, and professional service of food and beverages to Hotel guests in their rooms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:

• To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.


• To make the Room Service Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints.


• To train and support employees directly accountable to his/her position and to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.


• To extend a courteous and professional greeting to all guests.


• To coordinate with other departments to ensure prompt and professional response to all guest requests.


• To ensure that Room Service station is attended at all times during specified hours.


• To stock adequate levels of necessary supplies at the Room Service station.


• To ensure hotel corridors are kept clear of all Room Service items.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must have minimum one year experience in Food & Beverage Department of hotel industry, with emphasis on Room Service. Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. Valid California driver's license required.

SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Demonstrated ability to train staff and ensure luxury resort customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Good team player. Customer service focus. Ability to effectively manage staff to maintain a high level of morale and productivity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 80% of shift. Sits at desk or in meetings approximately 20% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over long distances. Must be able to work well under pressure. Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours, as needed. Frequent use of stairs, daily.
