Position Summary
The maintenance mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to include repair and maintenance of facility equipment, buildings and grounds.
Essential Functions:
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machinery and facility equipment.
Read and interpret schematics and equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
Preventative maintenance on lift trucks to include maintaining battery water levels, washing and painting as needed.
Performs routine maintenance and minor repair of building interior and exterior to include, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, welding, interior lighting such as ballasts and lamps, interior fans etc.
Completes Preventative Maintenance orders as required
Parts runner
Maintain records to ensure accountability of time, parts and repairs to meet regulatory compliance and budget constraints.
Comply with company safety policies and maintain clean and orderly work area.
Trained in and comply with Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures.
Other duties as assignment by Plant Manager.
. Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills:
HS Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License
2+ years maintenance experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Previous industrial maintenance experience to include electrical and mechanical; preferably in a manufacturing environment. PLC experience a plus.
Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment.
Must be able to effectively manage time by organizing and planning work.
Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and powered industrial equipment in performing duties.
Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequently changing priorities.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 50 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work at heights and in inclement weather.
Frequently exposed to a non-climate controlled environment.
Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.
Personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, hair net and food safety related items, is required.
