While reporting to the Supervisor, as a Machine Operator Trainee, you will be responsible for operating all manufacturing equipment. Safety, quality, productivity and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.
What You'll Be Doing:
Learn how to inspect and package product.
Responsible for the proper operation of the extrusion/thermoforming line.
Must demonstrate working knowledge of plant processing equipment and have an aptitude for problem solving.
Must be able to properly set-up, startup, operate and shutdown all production equipment.
You will troubleshoot and correct processing problems.
Record and share information with other team members to maintain quality and machine efficiencies.
Must be proficient on all paperwork.
Performs quality audits.
Coordinate line requirements with other departments (Maintenance, Material Handling, and QA).
Other duties as requested by Supervisor.

Previous experience in plastics is extremely helpful
To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being safety and quality focused is a must.
You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
Repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time are required.
You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Pay Rate: $16.00/HR
