Atkore, a recent recipient of a Great Place to Work certification, is currently searching for a Production Coordinator to be based out of our New Bedford, MA facility. Reporting to Plant Manager, the Production Coordinator will be responsible for managing manufacturing production activities in support of overall Atkore strategic objectives. This role will assist in the preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations, personnel changes, etc. This position is a critical part of our team that will administer programs, projects, and/or processes specific to the operating unit served.


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Compile headcount statistics to calculate RIR and other Safety metrics.

  • Responsible for office 5S program.

  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production, downtime, scrap, quality, and schedule compliance reports in Microsoft Access and Excel.

  • Organize and file all production documents.

  • Monitor and document production trends and report both challenging and successful runs to Operations.

  • Provide tags and labels to operations.

  • Report receivers into MAPICS and Excel.

  • Order and receive supplies, tools, etc. for operations.

  • Perform end of month inventories and report results to accounting.

  • Identify and participate in Lean initiatives, kaizen events and projects.

  • Develop cost-effective measurements to achieve exceptional business practices.

  • Maintain employee qualification roster.

  • Maintain attendance records.

  • Develop and maintain annual vacation schedule for all plant employees.

  • Post job bids.

  • Assist supervisors on production floor as needed.

  • Organize and maintain records of invoices, trucking information, etc.

  • Provide support to operation management including supervision of staff as needed.



Qualifications include:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Access and Power Point required.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to organize and multi-task numerous activities is a must.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within all levels of a diverse organization.



  • Experience working with teams which support and drive company values and initiatives from an individual contributor level.

  • Bilingual (Spanish and/or Portuguese) is a plus.
