Spec Engineering is seeking a difference maker to join our team as a TIG Welderwho uses their welding and fabricating skills to create custom processing and material handling equipment and systems. They enjoy working as a team with engineers and other fabricators to deliver quality to customers.

Spec Engineering is a privately held, fast growing, and stable full-service process engineering firm and turnkey system integrator. We provide the latest technology in processing systems for the Food & Beverage, General Manufacturing, and Chemical industries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Fabricates equipment and systems per drawings.

  • Works with other members of the shop, engineering staff, and contractors to assemble, build, and install equipment and systems in house and on site.

  • Loading and unloading of equipment, parts, orders, systems.

  • Piping assembly.

  • Welding, cutting, grinding, assembling per engineering fabrication drawings.

  • Crating of systems and equipment.

  • Travels on-site to assist in installation of projects as needed.

  • Operates cranes and forklifts upon proper certification.

  • Works effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to reduce costs and add value to the organization.

  • Maintains a safe work environment under supervision of Safety Coordinator.

  • Maintains and fixes shop tools and equipment.

  • Organizes inventory and shop equipment.

  • Works under general supervision of shop manager.

Required Education/Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 2-5 years experience with millwright, fabrication, and/or welding inOEM environment preferred.

  • Forklift or Crane experience a plus.
