A Technician, Install & Repair - Nomad is responsible for providing excellent customer service through installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading Rise Broadband network systems and equipment. This position regularly climbs ladders and works on rooftops and may occasionally work on towers-up to 500 ft. This Nomad position travels on a frequent basis within the large geographic footprint.

Essential Duties:

* Installs and programs equipment; including high speed internet, VOIP, and basic personal computer (PC) and Local Area Network (LAN) setup and repair

* Troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, replaces, and upgrades components

* Checks systems for correct functionality and optimal performance

* Maintains accurate installation, service, and inventory records

* Ensures adequate supply levels by inventorying stock and communicating needs to warehouse

* Treats customers with respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times

* Coordinates schedules with dispatchers

* Listens to descriptions of problems, answering questions, and resolving issues

* Communicates the wiring plan and equipment lay-out with customer prior to the installation

* Educates customers by conveying verbal information clearly and concisely

* Climbs communications towers and ladders; safely working in an elevated position

* Maintains backhaul network; repairing network outages

* Identifies potential performance "bottle necks" in the system

* Ensures proper site operation; inspecting cable and electrical equipment

* Identifies and designing potential new areas to be developed

* Contacts homeowners and site managers to ensure installation satisfaction

* Follows industry codes, regulations, and standards

* Adheres to policies and procedures while working autonomously

* Maintains a safe work environment by following safe practices and adhering to safety policies, including practicing safe driving techniques

* Acquires and applies information needed for prompt decision making

* Refers to and interprets schematics, manuals, and manufacturer's instructions

* Updates and improves job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications, and participating in on-going technical training

* Supports co-workers and builds positive working relationships with all team members

* Meets or exceeds performance goals and quality standards

* Meets or exceeds productivity standards by prioritizing tasks and working efficiently

* Travel up to 95% of the time including day trips and some over-night.

* Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

* Valid driver's license

* 1 year in a related experience preferred

* Microsoft Office suite preferred

* Knowledge of networking and electronics theory, and electrical codes and standards relative to communications

* Basic knowledge of RF wireless technologies, IP networking, and wireless planning

* Ability to analyze and define problems, calculate figures and amounts, prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines, and remain flexible

Working Conditions

* Employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently climb a ladder and work in an elevated position. On a constant basis, must safely lift, carry and maneuver heavy or awkward objects 100 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Full spectrum color vision required.

* Must be able to work safely in a field or office environment. Must be adept at working in adverse weather conditions.

* Frequent travel within the Company's geographical footprint is required.
