Spec Engineering is seeking a difference maker to join our team as a client-facing Project Manager who sees the big picture. This person's talent is to analytically break down complex projects and formulate action-steps to control the desired outcome. They are assertive, live to deliver on time, and masterfully oversee and control project scope, cost, and scheduling, plus coordinating with all involved contractors and departments.

Spec Engineering is a privately held, fast growing, and stable full-service process engineering firm and turnkey system integrator. We provide the latest technology in processing systems for the Food & Beverage, General Manufacturing, and Chemical industries.

Essential Duties and responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • Leads project teams consisting of design engineers, controls engineers, outside contractors, vendors, and shop assembly personnel.

  • Oversee engineering design of integrated equipment systems, including machines, automation, and field installation.

  • Leads and coordinates full project life-cycle from customer order to site start-up.

  • Manages the customer relationship in conjunction with sales.

  • Works with other members of the engineering staff and other departments to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner.

  • Monitors and controls budget and actual costs throughout the course of projects.

  • Travels on-site for various customer meetings and to oversee installation of projects.

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

RequiredEducation/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar field.

  • 5-10 years of experience in project management leading teams and driving customer satisfaction.

  • Experience in an OEM environment is preferred.
