Material Coordinator

Reports to:Shift Supervisor

This position is responsible for safe and accurate transfer of materials and finished goods to their proper locations.

****Training will be completed on day shift and then employee will be moved to nights: 7pm-7am 12 hour shift, rotating schedule, must be able to work weekends ***

* Moves material, pallets, or finished products between trucks, outside storage or warehouse to and from production lines.

* Responsible for accurate loading and unloading of trucks, Ensure proper documentation/ double check what is put on each load being shipped out.

* Accurate completion of all shipping/receiving paperwork

* Keeps warehouse and storage areas neat and orderly.

* Perform regrind duties, to include sorting/regrinding of tubes/sticks, maintaining appropriate gaylords of regrind material and maintain cleanliness of regrind area.

* Monitor railcars to include maintaining proper documentation and communications of any changes

* Conscientiously observes all safety precautions concerning operation of machines, especially the HALO rule when operating a forklift.

* Complete daily forklift inspection before operating.

Minimum requirements

* 1 to 2 years fork truck driving experience.

* Ability to work well with others in a sometimes stressful environment.

Preferred experience

* 2 to 3 years operating forklifts.

* Proficiency with using a computer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required

* Ability to work overtime as needed.

* Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

* Must be able to work 12 hr days

* Basic computer skills

* Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers

* Ability to relate well to others and maintain effective working relationships

* Ability to complete forklift recertification training on a yearly basis.

Additional information

Normal schedule will consist of 12 hour shifts. The position would be paid hourly and be eligible for overtime pay. The position would also be eligible for the hourly bonus program. Hourly rate for the position would be based on experience.
