Custodians ensure the community is clean and presentable at all times. They also make sure that all accidents, such as spills, breakage or any other episode of such is addressed as quickly as possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (tasks)
Demonstrate correct procedures and sufficient gross and fine motor skills in sweeping and mopping hard surfaces, in carpet-spot cleaning and in vacuuming and shampooing carpeted surfacesWork with Buffers, Floor Scrubbers and ExtractorsClean areas thoroughly creating a minimal need for repeat of tasksTrash and waste are removed promptly and according to scheduleClean hazard waste using proper Personal Protective Equipment according to Policy and ProceduresRemove trash from trash rooms community wideDust furniture regularly according to schedulesEnsure supplies are maintained in restroomsKeep public restrooms cleaned at all timesClean windows regularly or as assignedReport all safety hazards found to supervisorReport all paint chips, lights out, and other unsightly issues in all areas to supervisor to create a work orderAssist in all moves by residents according to assignmentsUse the proper tools when moving furniture or boxesFollow the dress code policy and procedures of the department
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: (education, experience, licenses, training, knowledge, skills, abilities)
3 years of custodial experienceAble to read, write and communicate proficiently in English
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to lift 50 lbs.; stand, walk or sit for long periods of time; good physical condition; emotionally stable to deal with the daily stresses of the job and must be able to seek help when needed
