The Andersons, Inc. - Greenville, Ohio

Since its completion in February 2008, The Andersons has managed the 135 million gallon ethanol plant, the largest facility of its kind in Ohio. The plant requires 46 million bushels of corn to operate and produces 390,000 tons of distiller dried grains annually. Ethanol, E-85, corn oil and CO2 are available.

We are seeking a Maintenance Foreman to join our maintenance team.

Position Overview

This position is accountable for leading maintenance team activities within area of responsibility.  This senior-level position performs installations, overhauls, troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of production and facility equipment, and acts in a lead role to ensure tasks and projects are completed according to established standards and quality. This position ensures that all activities are conducted according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide hands-on leadership of installations and overhauls of equipment, and in routine and emergency maintenance and repairs.

  • Diagnose complex maintenance issues with a focus on continuous improvement, providing input and recommendations.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints and work orders to lead team in appropriate actions regarding maintenance and service.

  • Perform and ensure that regular preventive maintenance is complete and on-schedule, ensure that computerized preventative maintenance system is maintained according to standards.

  • Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of all safety policies and standards and act in a lead role to exemplify.  Work in a safe manner and recognizes unsafe situations, takes appropriate action to ensure safety of themselves and others in building.

Working Environment


  • 'Work is performed in a 24x7 Ethanol production facility.

  • This job is subject to intermittent requirements for heavy lifting, climbing, working in strained positions and in confined areas, occasionally for a prolonged period. 

  • This job is required to work out of doors in all weather conditions with frequent exposure to noise, dirt and a dusty environment. 

  • The hazards are those associated with height and working around large machinery. 


Minimum Qualifications & Skills


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred

  • 5+ years' relevant experience required
