Are you a CAD Drafter capable of handling complex drawing and drafting assignments with limited supervision?

Are you a CAD Drafter who enjoys problem solving and critical thinking, and possess meticulous attention to detail?

Spec Engineering is seeking an impact player and difference maker to join our team as a CAD Drafter. This self-driven drafter should be able to manage several project tasks simultaneously and have the capability to react quickly in a fast-paced environment. The nature of this position is one where attention to details, procedures, and specific job assignments are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Create drawings and 3D models from written and verbal specifications obtained from Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and Customers.

  • Draft and prepare 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D designs using SolidWorks.

  • Draw Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, elevation drawings, and fabrication drawings using established standards.

  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for integrated system projects.

  • Develop 3D models from 2D drawings, specifications, and manufacturer data.

  • Produce effective system designs by demonstrating an understanding of engineering and manufacturing techniques.

  • Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineers.

  • Work with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation.

  • Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure drafting efforts are standardized across all projects.

  • Complete project responsibilities within scope, budgeted hours and schedule.

  • Work in a collaborative manner with team members to see projects through to completion.

  • Update and maintain drafting library.

Required Education/Experience:


  • Two-year associate degree program at a technical school or community college required.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

  • Experience in OEMenvironment is preferred.
