Agronomist Sales Representative

One of Land O'Lakes Member Owner Agriculture Cooperatives is currently seeking both entry level and experienced Agronomy Sales Representatives to join the team. The team is looking to place an entry level ASR in Rush City, MN and an experienced ASR in Ogilvie, MN. The Agronomist Sales Representative (ASR) position will work with farmers/producers to identify and secure new Agronomy business by creating solid farm plans which leverage strong agronomic solutions. The ASR, will proactively promote crop nutrients, crop protection products, seed, agricultural custom application services, and energy products. This key member of our team will focus on helping achieve the mission, goals, and market share, while increasing gross sales, local net margin, and providing outstanding customer service. This position will provide excellent customer service, recommendations, and follow-up with existing customers while prospecting and creating new business to grow market share.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:


  • Plan sales calls and contact prospective customers. (both cold calls and warm leads)

  • Tracking all sales calls and contacts on coop web based sales contacts and leads.

  • Sell, secure and place seed orders to coops central warehouse.

  • Leverage and promote grower meetings, grower events and promotional activities.

  • Support and facilitate in-store counter sales.

  • Assist Location Manager with monitoring inventories and customer invoicing.

  • Attend monthly sales meetings and planning and development activities.

  • Coordinate and support custom application services with customers.

  • Hours: This position must be able to work within our customer/growers time frames and schedules and include extended hours during our spring busy season as well as evenings and/or weekends as seasonal demands dictate.

  • This position will need to seek ongoing educational opportunities to enhance understanding of new products and offerings in order to educate and support the customer sales process.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and Crop Science or equivalent;

OR


  • 2 + years of related experience working with farmers and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Previous Agriculture sales background and experience preferred.

  • Active CDL and or ability to obtain CDL.

Physical Demands:

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
