Position Overview

This is a skilled position as a Project Engineer involves the assisting and management as directed by Estimator/Project Managers and/or Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)



  • Actively participate in acquisition and maintenance of permits, bonding and insurance including UDOT, City, Vehicle, SWPPP, etc.




  • Assist and maintain Water Meters with Superintendents.




  • Administer One Drive at the direction of the Estimating and Operations Managers with relevant project information including phase lists & CO work orders.  Add Phases at the request of the Superintendents. Distribute project documents to field.




  • Attend pre-construction, project hand-off, cost reviews, and project job progress meetings




  • Work with Traffic Control department to prepare traffic control plans and pull permits




  • Verify aggregate pricing, quantity, and coding daily




  • Process change orders and T&M work tickets as needed by the Project Managers




  • Assist and  with purchase orders, submittals, and project supplier quotes




  • Assist estimating team with RFI logs, change orders, and submittals




  • Adhere to and be a champion for company safety programs.




  • Ensure compliance with all company and governmental regulations.




  • Provide training certifications to customers as requested



Additional Responsibilities (As Needed & Directed by Operations Manager)



  • Estimate and manage projects assigned by the Operations or Estimating Manager.




  • Attend Pre Bid meetings. 




  • Identify, assist, and maintain the prequalification database and applications, by keeping past project lists & resumes up to date, relevant to business unit. Work with SWF Estimating Assistant as needed.




  • Maintain estimating bidding log and pipeline




  • Ensure all bid lists and bid notification services are up to date and continually maintained with all Reynolds personnel attached to customer bid lists




  • Assist with aggregate pricing and support as needed by sales team.




  • Perform other duties as assigned by Operations, Estimating and/or General Manager.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other related field.   0 - 5 years construction experience is preferred with; or an equivalent of education and experience will be accepted

  • Ability to write correspondence. 




  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. . 




  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 




  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 




  • Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.




  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions




  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
