OBJECTIVE
The first priority of this position is to answer all incoming calls promptly and professionally; the receptionist creates good will and establishes a positive image of Ashby Lumber to callers. The second priority is to monitor and manage the calls relayed to sales and other departments. In addition, the Saturday Receptionist provides customer service and administrative support to the Door and Window Sales staff. Punctuality, good attendance and precise organizational skills are essential to this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer and route phone calls
Take messages and relay calls to voice mail as needed
Greet and assist walk-in customers, when needed, by directing them to sales staff or product displays
Inventory, order, label and stock product literature in the appropriate spaces in D&W Showroom
Learn computer and phone system functions necessary to do the above efficiently and accurately
Other tasks as assigned by the HR Director, Sales Manager and/or General Manager
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Operate a variety of standard office machines: computer and computer software, including Microsoft Office, phone, fax, shredding, copy, and laminating machines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
Possess strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments
Able to work collectively with the administrative team
Bilingual – Spanish language skills proficiency a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sit/stand for 8 hours per day
Use hands and fingers to manipulate keys on a keyboard
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
Must be able to lift/carry 30 lbs. occasionally; must be able to push/pull 30 lbs.
Occasionally must reach with arms and hands, climb or balance
All mobility motions are required occasionally for indoor and outdoor environments (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, squatting, and climbing)
