Summary

The Core Sales and Service team manages all group business with 101 - 2,999 members. Other Northern CA locations may be considered.

The Senior Manager, Account Services Manager (ASM) - Core develops strategies for using service as a competitive differentiator. The Senior Manager, ASM is accountable for: ensuring installation processes for new and renewing business meets agreed to service performance standards, leading training initiatives within the field and internal service teams, audits performance of Core account groups and recommends areas of improvement when necessary. This person will work closely with our Account Executive team, and their leadership, as well as maintain close relationships with top tier brokers/consultants.

The Senior Manager, ASM will report to the Area Vice President, Core Accounts and will manage a sales support team across Northern California that serves overall market membership and advances health related initiatives on behalf of the employer.

The Senior Manager, ASM will partner closely with other leaders within Core to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and development of new commercial business are being delivered effectively and consistently.

The Senior Manager, ASM must bring a consultative and proactive approach to sales and service within the team that delivers results that will truly differentiate Blue Shield in the marketplace.

Responsibilities


  • Makes service calls as a part of the field sales team as an operations and service expert.

  • Promotes high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through proactive review of customer needs.

  • Manages a team with a focus on policy and strategy implementation.

  • Organizes & leads training initiatives with team & other customer service departments.

  • Establishes operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results for team and enterprise.

  • Provide measurable input to new products, processes, or stands in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall function results.

  • Contributes toward digital advancements that more effectively and efficiently support our members.

  • Travel up to 40%.








Knowledge and Experience


  • Typically, requires a college degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10-year prior relevant experience in healthcare sales and/or account management within the Core (mid-market) or Premier (national accounts) group market segment, including 4 years of management experience.

  • An active CA Health and Life license is required.

  • A track record of building strong relationships with customers and brokers, preferably in Northern California; and demonstrated success in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within Core business segment.

  • Prior track record demonstrating success at growing and retaining market segment membership.

  • Wellness expertise.

  • Customer Utilization reporting experience.

  • Self-Funded customer experience.
