NON-EXEMPT MANUFACTURING

TITLE: Flexo Operator 1 (job code 026214) DATE: 01-01-21

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Production

LOCATION: Paperboard Specialties - Norcross, GA

PURPOSE: Set up and operate flexo presses to produce items consistent with customer specifications. Coordinate maintenance efforts with Shift Supervisor. Organize production run of customer order to maximize efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Produce up to 8 color flat, screen, and process print rolls in sufficient quantity and quality.

2. Adjust inks as needed. Check for color and registration approval as required.

3. Coordinate press efforts with mechanics and other operators. Train other workers as instructed.

4. Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

5. Maintain safe, clean work place.

6. Complete all forms. Maintain records, samples, files, and/or logs as required.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

1. Assist mechanics and operators as required.

2. Inspect plates, dies and equipment, replenish materials as needed.

3. Operate other equipment as requested.

4. Perform other duties as directed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

EDUCATION: High school degree or equivalent education and/or training preferred. Ability to read and comprehend work orders and to perform basic mathematical functions required.

EXPERIENCE:

1 - 2 years experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Heavy work requires exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 70 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 40 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Visual acuity and color perception necessary to distinguish color shades.

WORK CONDITIONS: Atmosphere may contain fumes, odors, etc. at times. Noise level will vary according to proximity of operating equipment and may require hearing protection. Face shields may be required for pouring/mixing some substances. Gloves must be worn when handling inks and other chemicals. Work is performed with and/or near chemicals and equipment. In accordance with our safety program, all employees receive informative training on chemicals and equipment used within the plant. Employee must be able to work any shift with overtime as required.
