The Line Producer will be responsible for executing newscasts and/or newsbriefs from the control room for a 24/7 LIVE news operation. Under Executive and Senior Producer oversight, the selected candidate will also prepare rundowns, produce segments, and help lead the network’s LIVE breaking news coverage. The ideal candidate must be editorially mature and possess a superior knowledge and understanding of national and international news and the domestic audience.
What you'll do:
Prepares the rundown, creates graphics and selects compelling video
Makes important editorial decisions in real time while leading anchor/s, on-location reporters, LIVE guests, associate producers, writers, and the technical team inside the control room
Writes and edits anchor copy
Develops and produces segments, including in-house packages, from inception to air
Coordinates with crews in the field and collaborates closely with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer, LIVE News
Communicates effectively with anchors, assignment editors, writers, reporters, segment producers, associate producers, video editors, videographers and managers regarding story development, newscast production and breaking news
Produces stories for digital
Participates in editorial meetings
What you'll bring:
5+ years of editorial experience producing live news shows in a leadership role at either a major market, cable, or network
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent work experience
Must be fully fluent in English
Proven experience managing on-air talent
Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage a control room in a high pressure, breaking news environment
Knowledge of I-News
Experience in editorial, operational, and managerial strategy
Must have experience in programming for a social and digital audience
Eligibility Requirements:
Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends and holidays
Willingness to work flexible hours including overnights, weekends, holidays and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 operation
Must be willing to work in Atlanta, Georgia
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
