Description:
The position requires an experienced actuarial viewpoint in modeling and analysis for a wide variety of items related to the Medicare Part D market. Works collaboratively with cross functional teams and matrix partners to complete analysis requested as part of the Part D bid development process. Performs detailed actuarial analyses for Medicare Part D business, including, but not limited to: drug expense analyses and projections, trend projections, formulary modeling, network analysis, Medicare Part D bid assumption development, actuarial modeling/analysis, and other ad hoc actuarial analyses as needed.
Responsibilities:
Performs financial projections and actuarial analysis for complex assignments including:
Works closely with others to prepare bid assumptions and run bid pricing models to prepare pricing for Part D bids
Trend Analysis (Internal & Industry comparisons)
Formulary modeling
Network analysis
Impact of Regulatory Changes
Assists in preparing responses to desk review and bid audit questions.
Assists in other ad hoc analysis, as necessary, requested by business partners.
Minimum Requirements:
BS in Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or other related field
4+ years of actuarial experience
Proven capabilities in modeling, forecasting, and predictive analytics
Strong communication skills; written/verbal proficiency
Experience in the healthcare industry, health plan or pharmacy benefit management highly preferred
Preferred Background:
Strong analytical experience
Extensive Medicare knowledge, with specific acumen in Part D, including:
Bid preparation and desk review
CMS compliance
CMS audit requirements
Formulary Modeling Experience
Network Modeling Experience
Rebate Modeling Experience
Trend Analysis Experience
Ability to expertly utilize SQL and/or SAS for data mining
Proficiency in Excel
This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
