POSITION SUMMARY:

Morgan Truck Body has an excellent career opportunity for an EHS Intern located at our corporate headquarters in Morgantown, PA. This internship will be from mid-May through mid-August.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Regional Safety Engineer with data collection, development, and implementation of EHS programs.
  • Works with EHS Team members to assist in day-to-day activities of the department.
  • Assists in the coordination and preparation of reports, training manuals, and programs.
  • Assists with industrial hygiene (IH) assessments such as air monitoring and noise surveys, and job hazard analysis.
  • Conducts needs analysis; and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Other EHS projects as identified.
  • EXPERTISE REQUIRED / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to a BS/BA or MS/MA in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, health and safety, industrial hygiene, industrial engineering, occupational health, or a related field.
    • Fundamental knowledge of OSHA regulations, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.
    • Demonstrated interest in EH&S, and an ability to handle a wide variety of EHS assignments such as air, water, and waste management; energy conservation; health and safety; regulatory compliance; industrial hygiene; and EH&S management systems.
    • Ability to work with team members in a manufacturing production environment. Experience and/or knowledge of working in manufacturing is preferred but not required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.
