Cognizant is seeking an Onboarding Experience Coordinator to support the growth of Cognizant’s Digital Business in select North American cities. To ensure Cognizant remains a premier digital employer of choice, it is paramount to provide a world class interview & onboarding experience for our new employees.  This role will also support local volume hiring events and ensure candidates have an exceptional interview experience via meticulous engagement at every step.  Similarly, the Candidate Experience Coordinator directly engages with offered candidates via phone and video to ensure completion of hiring process steps in advance of joining Cognizant.  These steps include securing the return of signed offer letters and joining documents, facilitating background checks, creating employee IDs, shipping work assets (laptop, phone) and assisting with new employee orientation on the first day of employment.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure candidates receive a world-class interview & onboarding experience which reinforces Cognizant’s digital employer-of-choice brand.

  • Update candidate status information throughout the system to provide clarity to stakeholders

  • Coordinate with recruitment teams on transitioning candidates to "new hires" and ensure completion of related onboarding steps

  • Directly engage with new hires via phone & video tools (WebEx/Teams) prior to their first day, facilitating offer document completion, background checks, coordinating with local recruiters and hiring managers to ensure a seamless welcome for new hires

  • Handle first day logistics including orientations scheduling, required documentation and asset (laptop, phone) issuance.

  • Be the "first day" ambassador/point of contact, assisting the new hire from offer extension through the new hire period

  • Onboard new hires into HRIS systems and training applications

  • Manage onboarding artifacts, from "getting started" guides to in-depth documentation created in support of making a new hire most successful

  • Coordinate with any local office entities to assist with site specific benefits, protocols or operational matters


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of human resource generalist experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent spoken English and written communication skills

  • Process-driven with an ability to analyze and optimize

  • Provide standard or ad hoc management reporting as requested

  • Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

  • Excellent spoken English and written communication skills

  • An outgoing, people-centric mindset resulting is 20-30 joinee outreach calls per day

  • Prior experience communicating with US based candidates from multicultural, multinational, multi-gender backgrounds

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)

  • Strong calendar management skills
