What you will do

Provide support to perform accurate and timely completion of calibrations for instrumentation and measuring devices used on the product test facilities. This includes computer programming to support calibrations, maintenance of calibration equipment, and upkeep of required calibration records.  Provide electrical and electronic fabrication of various data acquisition equipment and assemblies.  Provide support for supervisory control and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems used for product testing under the jurisdiction of the Test Lab group.  This includes software and system hardware design, computer programming, sensor and computer hardware selection, and training users in the operation of these systems.

How you will do it


  • Provide computer programming to maintain and upgrade existing SCADA systems and calibration programs to support effective and accurate testing processes at the JADEC Test Lab

  • Participate in Data Acquisition team discussions and communicate with Test Lab client group members to develop software requirement specifications

  • Conceptually design SCADA system hardware including any required sensors, instrumentation, computers, peripherals and data acquisition devices

  • Program and deploy SCADA software as required, including any necessary debugging and documentation

  • Complete timely calibrations on various sensors, instrumentation, and measuring devices

  • Provide procurement, fabrication and installation of new SCADA hardware and software systems as needed

  • Maintain all software using software version control

  • Assist and train employees in the use of the Test Lab SCADA systems hardware and software

  • Provide technical support to Test Lab client groups regarding Test Lab SCADA systems hardware and software

  • Work with Test Engineers and Test Technicians to meet client testing needs and schedule

  • Demonstrate preferred JCI behaviors and adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards

What we look for


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Computer Science with electronics and/or controls system knowledge. 

  • Entry level position with previous internship or 1-2 years of work experience in related field

  • Academic or work experience in writing functional LabVIEW code is required

  • LabVIEW certification at Certified LabVIEW Developer level (or capable of obtaining this certification within 1 year of hire)

  • Background in software development and / or software engineering

  • SQL Programming experience

  • Basic understanding of SCADA system concepts and design including sensors, hardware, data communications and networking

  • Basic understanding of electrical and electronic assembly techniques including wiring and soldering

  • Ability to operate independently on individual projects

  • Effective management of multiple concurrent projects to meet required timing and schedules

  • High level of logical thought processing and trouble shooting skills to identify software and hardware solutions

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, schedule driven work environment

  • Pro-active attitude to break down walls and deliver new hardware and software

  • Highly effective and professional interpersonal skills to contribute as part of internal customer service team

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills using English

  • Proficient with business productivity software and Microsoft Suite Applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)

  • Additional skillsets that support effective execution that we look for, but not essential to have include the following:

  • Programming experience in C#, Visual Basic, VBA, HTML

  • PLC programming experience

  • Controls systems knowledge

  • Database Administration

  • Source Code control tools

  • Pressure, temperature, flow and power measurement instrumentation

  • Calibration management software

  • Basic understanding of refrigeration systems and concepts
