Position Objective:

In this hands-on position, the IEQ and HVAC Equipment Product Manager will liaise and provide technical support across all business functions including, but not limited to, Sales, Marketing, Quality, and Manufacturing for each of the IEQ and HVAC Equipment product lines. The Product Manager will evaluate, specify, and champion the development of new products as well as maintain and implement incremental improvements of existing product design. The Product Manager will provide training to the Sales team, channel and distribution partners, A&E firms, and end-user clients. The Product Manager is the gate keeper of product design and is responsible for reviewing and approving all significant design and process changes.

Key Accountabilities:

* Provides technical and application training and support to the Sales team, channel and distribution partners, and end-user clients.
* Works with Sales and Marketing to develop concepts into workable design applications in response to marketplace needs through modeling, prototyping and testing.
* Recommends improvements to existing products with focus on Voice of Customer and design for manufacturability.
* Examines, inspects and analyzes in-house and competitive products.
* Prepares project proposals (KRS) for presentation to management at SIG for new product designs including purpose and scope, cost and time estimates and resources needed.
* Manages approved projects through the NPI process within established budgets and schedules.
* Writes and maintains product specification files.
* Investigates product complaints and collaborates with manufacturing, quality and customer service on problem resolution, route cause and corrective action.
* Participates actively in industry related standards organizations and technical committees.
* Other duties as may be assigned.

Position Requirements:


  1. Mechanical Engineering degree required, or similar business experience;

  2. 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience in product engineering or design, project management and/or product development;

  3. Solid understanding of HVAC and filtration principles preferred;

  4. Engineering background or equivalent work experience in supporting technical solutions;

  5. Strong PC skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. CAD and other manufacturing related software a plus;

  6. Strong technical and business case development skills;

  7. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications and procedures;

  8. Self-directed and detail oriented with the flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities that frequently change;

  9. Ability to complete multiple tasks within the required time frame in a highly interactive environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities;

  10. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Able to work effectively one-on-one and in a team environment;

  11. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public;

  12. Must be highly ethical, have strong integrity, use value based decision-making;

  13. Improvement Process, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar tools a plus;

  14. Negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills;

  15. Microsoft Office, CRM (salesforce.com), and ERP (SAP, Other);

  16. Entrepreneurial motivation and spirit.
