Job Summary: Under limited guidance, works at the business unit level developing the end-to-end solution architecture for significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders. Expose current state architecture and identify options for future state architecture. Works closely with business and IT stakeholders creating solutions that balance competing interests and concerns. Develop plans for and facilitate the migration from current to selected future state by providing technical leadership to multiple initiatives. Mentor those in less senior positions.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement. Ability to lead, working collaboratively and creatively with business and IT stakeholders. Strong human relation and communication skills.
Job Description The Freight IT Architecture & Enablement organization is recruiting for Solutions Architect who can provide leadership in solution and application architecture of our in-facility edge-based computing systems with integration across our vendors, 3rd party software dependencies and our FedEx Freight datacenter.
Job Responsibilities:
Document and implement solution, and application architecture and define components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools
Analyze business requirements and develop functional and non-functional system requirements
Identify strategic and tactical solutions and be able to influence and negotiate with colleagues and business partners
Produce architecture and oversee the development of cross-functional, highly scalable, cloud ready solutions
Promote the appropriate architecture and design principles and patterns to be leveraged for every technology enabled solution
Collaborate regularly with peer architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise direction
Perform all documentation and process responsibilities for Architecture Delivery, Disaster Recovery and Open Source Software requests and evaluations
Must be experienced in modernizing/replacing legacy systems
Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus:
Ability to successfully lead change
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Experience with implementing architecture principles and patterns
Experience with deploying in public cloud (Azure)
Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Python, as well as Linux and Windows operating systems
Working knowledge of cloud data storage fundamentals, networking and Splunk
Experience with SOA, API Management, service design and development
Experience architecting and implementing distributed systems that process large data volumes
Working knowledge and experience developing large scale distributed systems
Working knowledge of established application design frameworks and UML
Experience with Sparx or similar modeling tool
Experience in building real-time interfaces between heterogeneous systems
Spring Boot, Public/Hybrid Cloud PaaS experience, relational database, NoSQL, and Linux skill-sets desired
Experience working within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
Experience in Continuous Integration/Deployment (DevSecOps) environment preferred
Experience in setting application architectural direction and disaster recovery models
Test driven development
