JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Security Manager or Lead Guard on-duty, secure all gates, checking all incoming and outgoing vehicles for proper authority to enter or exit. Ensure all personnel entering the facility have proper authority and to secure and monitor entire facility during and after business hours in accordance with corporate and security guidelines policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide prompt and courteous services; maintain a professional appearance and a neat work environment.
Advise the Safety Manager or Lead Guard on Duty of all serious complaints or incidences.
Inspect the fence line (if applicable) for indications of unauthorized entry or potential security risks.
Ensure the plant facility and grounds are secured at established times. Note any security, safety, or fire hazards.
Secure gates at established times and patrol property. Check for unlocked doors.
Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins. Maintain a good flow of communication with other plant personnel.
Monitor and control all facility conditions, vehicles, property, and equipment within plant standards for security and safety purposes.
Make sure that area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee and customer accidents, injuries and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents to the Safety Manager immediately. Practice proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately.
Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety or security information.
Maintain a current list of emergency and Management telephone numbers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual skills preferred.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and sometimes push and/or move up to 300 pounds.
Able to walk throughout the day and be able to stand for extended periods at a time.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
